Our Crew
LCDR Bruce MacDougall, USN Retired
During a 22-year career in the US Navy, Bruce specialized in Sea/Land, peacetime and combat, search and rescue (SAR). After retiring in 2000, Bruce’s first foray into the dive industry was as a store manager. In 2004, he became owner of Divers Den. Bruce has been diving for over 25 years. He enjoys seeing the excitement in the eyes of all newly certified divers and looks forward to all sales opportunities. Bruce holds certifications as a PADI Divemaster, Cave Diver and Technical Nitrox Diver. |
Captain Chris Whitlock
Co-owner of Divers Den and South Georgia Dive Charters, Chris has been diving since 1994. What he enjoys most about diving is the ability to see some of the awesome wrecks which have sunk throughout the years — as well as the relaxation. Chris says that there is nothing like it in the world. He became an Instructor in 2000 because he enjoys seeing the excitement that a new student experiences when they make that first open water dive. Chris enjoys diving in every kind of wet environment; he is not particular just as long as he can get wet. Chris holds certifications as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Technical Instructor, DAN Instructor and Cave Diver. |
Captain Nick Elliott
Nick has been with South Georgia Dive Charters for three years. He is currently a divemaster, captain and co-owner. His goal is to become a dive instructor and also discover more of the marine history that lies waiting beneath the surface off southeast Georgia and northeast Florida. |
Captain Bob Guthrie
Bob holds a USCG Masters license and has over 30 years of offshore experience. His top priority is the safety and comfort of his guests and crew — but also to ensure that everyone has a good time aboard the Georgia Wreckreation. |
